Why we LOVE Dresses!!!

We are pretty passionate about our dresses range.

I'm Bex, and I'm the Founder of She Creates Stories. I want to share with you, why I LOVE dresses! I get questioned constantly on why I choose to wear dresses over anything else, and why they are such a passion of mine. Simply put, I always feel good in a dress, and I love the way they look.

HERE ARE THE TOP 5 REASONS THAT I LOVE DRESSES!

They Are Comfortable

I really think dresses are the most comfortable thing ever! I know this isn’t true for everyone but I will take a beautiful dress over a pair of jeans any day! That’s not to say that I’m against jeans or anything… I know that so many of you adore them and that’s exactly how we should feel in our clothing. Despite what some may think, I wear them too and they do have a place in my wardrobe 😉 However, since it's so hot and humid in Hong Kong for most of the year, I find jeans a bit of an investment for not a lot of use. When I have found the perfect pair... even then, I feel confined and very uncomfortable. When I wear a dress, I feel free! I’ve worn them in some pretty unconventional settings and I’ve never had issues with feeling uncomfortable. Although, a windy day is a different story ha!

They are a Whole Outfit!

This might be one of favorite reasons for wearing dresses! Instead of picking out and physically putting on multiple items, you literally just throw one piece on and you’re done – it’s like magic! I usually just add a few accessories and job done. Somehow even through that laziness, it looks like you’ve put in an incredible amount of time and effort into your outfit. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love styling outfits and putting together multiple items but I’m also a busy Mum so wearing a dress makes sense when I’m time poor. Plus it helps that they make me feel like million bucks and always look perfectly put together.

They Are Flattering

In my option, dresses are inclusive and universally flattering for every shape and size. Wearing certain cuts can accentuate or minimize specific areas to make you feel more confident in yourself, which I feel like is the most important thing when it comes to getting dressed everyday. Instead of hiding your body, dresses celebrate it and flatter in the best possible way. You should feel good in what you wear, whatever that may be, and it should fit in a way that makes you feel like your best self.

They Are Classically Feminine

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been drawn to a more feminine way of life. Make up, tea parties, and shopping are the norm. I love fashion magazines, accessories and a good ruffled detail. This is who I am. I also respect the art of femininity and what it means to be a woman not only in the modern world but in the past as well. This does not mean that you have to be a feminine person to wear dresses and vice versa as there are no prerequisites to wearing a certain style of clothing. But for me personally, wearing dresses is just another thing that emphasizes my love of all things feminine.

They Are soooooooo ME!

This is the most important reason of them all – I like to wear dresses because they are 1000000% ME. I don’t wear because I feel like I have to or because I’m trying to be someone else. What you see is what you get with me. While I’m not wearing a ballgown everyday, I am most certainly styled in a way that makes me feel good about myself. Dresses elevate my mood almost immediately and make me feel confident, comfortable, beautiful, powerful, and most like myself so why wouldn’t I want to feel like that every day?

In short, wear clothing that makes you feel happy! (and it absolutely does not have to be a dress – I promise that we can still be friends lol!). Whether that’s a great pair of jeans, a studded leather jacket, a fuchsia pantsuit or a sequined skirt, make sure you are wearing it because it makes you feel good. That is true personal style and that’s what makes you YOU.
